Four graduate students proposed the concept of foldable walkingpad in the laboratory and started developing.
“It’s going to be my dopamine maker! - We were postgrads and doctoral students and the great pressure of our scientific research had exhausted our formerly energetic and strong bodies. My doctor told me to get more exercise, but I didn’t even have time to walk in the park. We knew we had to deliver ourselves out of this terrible lack of physical activity. We wanted something that fit anywhere, was available anytime and was something easy to do and that allowed us to exercise standing up.
There wasn’t anything that did everything we were looking for, so we decided to make it happen. We wanted it to be light and thin and it had to fold, so it could be put under a couch or desk. That led us to the very first WalkingPad treadmill prototype. The response from friends and the market was remarkable, we knew we had something special. We knew then that “helping more people love fitness” would be our mission.
We are as committed today as we were then, to continue to deliver innovative ways to conveniently exercise every day. We want the world to discover the WalkingPad treadmill so they too can have a way to walk off the hard times, deal with life’s challenges and feel their very best.”
